I have not gotten so close with all of my mentees but I am close with a few. Particularly one of them who is in one of my classes and I even sat with her at the YU concert last week! twas fun!!
You don't need to be close to all of your mentees, you just need to have a relationship with them all. They should feel comfortable getting in touch with you about questions or just to chat. Do you have that kind of relationship with the majority of your mentees?
